Why is California Disaster Service Worker (DSW) registration important to California Wing?

California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) is California Wing’s largest customer outside of federal agencies, and our mission portfolio with CalOES is growing rapidly. To fulfill our missions for CalOES, California Wing Cadets and Senior Members need to be registered as Disaster Service Workers (DSWs). Registered DSWs supporting CalOES missions are covered by the states disability insurance and liability protections.

Even if you are a registered DSW through your employer or another organization, you need to register as a DSW explicitly with Civil Air Patrol.

Once your notarized DSW form has been processed by CalOES, you never have to renew your DSW while a member of California Wing.
